benevolent corporation

A nonprofit corporation; created for charitable rather than for business purposes. One that ministers to all; the purpose may be anything that promotes the mental, physical, or spiritual welfare of man. The term may include a corporation to which a bequest is made to be used in the improvement of the social, physical, and economic condition of the employees of a business corporation.
